Cedric Benson to have season ending leg surgery. Tough end to a tough season for Cedric.
Three former Longhorns will be featured as Todd McFarlane “Football Action Figures” in 2007.
Vince Young and Cedric Benson will be part of NFL Football Series 15 that will be released in September. Texas legend Earl Campbell’s figure will be released in August as a part of NFL Legends Series 3. Earl is looking pretty good in those old baby blue Houston Oilers uniforms.
The figures are six inches tall and look pretty good in photos. They’re only about $9.99 in stores so hopefully they look as good in person. (via)
Cedric Benson will be the Bears’ starter next year, they’ve traded Thomas Jones to the Jets.
After only two carries, [tag]Cedric Benson[/tag] may be done for the night. His first carry of the night he coughed up the football after a big hit from Colts’ safety Bob Sanders and his second carry may have been his last. He ran into his own lineman and then was nailed with a helmet-to-helmet hit by one of the Colts’ defenders. Benson was slow to get up after the play and CBS is reporting that he injured his knee and his return to the game is doubtful.
Tough break for Benson who had really been coming on late in the year and in the playoffs. Tough luck for the Bears as well as I’m sure part of their game plan was to bang away at the porous Indy defense with Benson and Thomas Jones. If Benson returns from the injury and is able to score a touchdown, he’d be the first ever Longhorn to do so in a Super Bowl.
Update: CBS’ sideline guy is now reporting that the Bears have ruled Benson out for the game. He will not be returning.
Cedric Benson is making the best of splitting carries with Thomas Jones and doing a better job not saying anything stupid.
Cedric has done a good job in limited opportunities. (via)
Chicago media ignores Cedric celebrating on national TV and writes whatever they want.
Twisted his right knee, no word on how severe it is yet.
Cedric agrees to 5-year deal with Bears.
