Probably my favorite press conference every year, Texas head coach is finally able to talk about the incoming recruits and sits down and goes over film of each one of them. Great to hear him talk about the entire incoming class and about the strengths of each player. Definitely worth your time to watch the entire thing:

The first Wednesday of every February is the big one for recruitniks. is the first day high school seniors can sign their National Letter of Intent to play college football. A Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a player and a school so more changing their mind or flip flopping after their name is on the paper.

The Texas Longhorns don’t expect any big news, they got their big fish last Friday, but this is the day when the members of the Horns’ fantastic 2010 recruiting class can make it truly official. Three players are already enrolled and on campus, so 25 22 young men will be faxing in their letters today.

We’ll have updates throughout the day as the letters come in on Twitter at @40AcresSports and here on this page. Most of the action should take place in the morning so stay tuned.

ScoutingOhio.com has posted video of Jordan Hicks’ commitment announcement from earlier today. You can see Jordan’s coach heaping praise on the young man and then watch as he pulls a Texas Longhorn cap from under the table. He then answers questions from reporters, including an idiotic one asking him about turning his back on Ohio State. Watch…

Congratulations to what appears to be a level-headed young man on choosing the good guys. Welcome to the 40 Acres.

Top linebacker recruit out of Ohio will finally make his college decision known on Friday morning. Hicks, a top 5-star stud out of Lakota West High School in Ohio, will announce his choice of college football programs at a press conference at his high school at 11:30am CST Friday.

Hicks is down to Texas, Florida, and Ohio State. He grew up a Longhorn fan and was long thought to be a Texas lean, but then recent rumors had him headed to Florida before the Urban Meyer waffling. Now, as things have drawn out longer than expected, people think the nearby Buckeyes may have pulled back in front. Hicks has handled the entire process very maturely and no one knows where he’s headed for sure. It may just be bias, but my money is on the good guys.
