The Texas basketball team faced their toughest test of the season last night in a top 10 match-up in the EA Sports Maui Invitational. had a half court attempt that would have won the game but it came up short and the team lost 80 – 81 to . Watch highlights from ESPN below:
ran the point most of the game and played well, shooting 7 of 12 from the field while adding 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Abrams scored 23 points to lead the Horns but needed 27 shots to do it and continued to struggle to find his shot. For the Horns to make a serious tourney run James needs to find his groove, whether it’s as dominating force inside or as a wing scorer he needs to be this team’s leader.
With the loss the Horns are now 3 – 1 on the season. Up next is the third place game in Maui against today at 3:30pm.
