Texas juniors underclassmen [tag]Jermichael Finley[/tag] and [tag]Roy Miller[/tag] both announced at the annual football banquet that they would be returning next year for their senior seasons. I hadn’t really heard much about Miller but there’s been rumors about Finley jumping early almost since the day he stepped on campus.

It’s still a long time before they have to make a final decision and as we saw with Vince things can change in a hurry, but it’s certainly good news that two of the team’s best players plan on being back for 2008.

Who the he** told Roy Miller he was a pro prospect in the first place?? He has shown nothing so far to warrant a statement about the NFL from him.

Actually there were times this year when he was playing much better than Okam, who most believe is at worst a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Despite having two very good players in front of him, Miller’s potential is very high according to the “experts.”

He’s got more talent than Derek Lokey and a higher motor than Okam, he’ll definitely have a chance to prove himself next year and has the potential to be a high pick in 2009.

The NFL Draft is about potential not production, remember Mike Mamula?

Oh, and the way the DMN (and myself) worded things it sounds like Roy made some sort of grand announcement that he was coming back. It’s probably just as likely someone asked if he’d be back and he simply said yes.

I think that Roy Miller was better than Lokey and at sometimes Okam. Everytime he came into the game he did something good. I am just worried about the back up DT, who do we have now that Dre Jones got kicked off. Like I know who the player at that position are, but are they any good or what? I think we are fine at DE, Linebackers, and corners. Our O-line is going to be one of the best in the Nation for a while now, our young players had plenty of playing time and we have good recruits and red shirts.

Hook ‘Em, Have to agree with your post. OL, DE, LB, CB, QB, WR, TE, all look good for the future. Somebody please tell me who plays safety!? Back up DT? Move Lewis to DT along with Melton? We need 4 for a decent rotation. Some talk in the spring of Wells being moved to safety.

Somebody needs to tell them that although he is eligible for the draft, Jermichael is only a redshirt sophomore; not a junior

I think we will need to find a safety for sure. We have the 2 recruits coming in that are alright looking. I think Nolan Brewster will be a great player for us, he just looks like he would be( my opinion). That Ishie Oduwegu guy we have is slow and did not impress me at all last year. I didnt even know why he was playing at some points. On the D-line I know we have Ben Alexander and Brian Ellis, Ellis was a redshirt last year so hopefully he will be an awesome freshman and get alot of playing time, if Mack opens the spot for him. And of course the 2 new comers, Kheeston Randall and Jarvis Humphrey, they just sound like they are cold, and Kheeston is getting alot of talk about his position and how he is going to be great. But all we can do is hope for the best.

Thanks Jacob, I knew that I don’t know what I was thinking. The post has been corrected.
