Derke was having doubts about what his role at UT would be with the great success of the young running backs in school and the other commits from this year and chose to take a visit to Arizona. The Longhorn coaching staff warned him beforehand but he decided it was worth the chance. He took his visit and when he returned the coaches informed him that he no longer had a scholarship offer to attend and play football at the University of Texas.

Robinson is definitely a top flight running back and will probably have a lot of success for the Wildcats, but I think Longhorn fans had a good feeling that with Jamaal Charles exploding onto the scene this year that it was unlikely we’d make it to February with all three 4-star running backs. Though they’re close in ability and potential, Robinson was the lowest ranked out of him, Emmanuel Moody, and Vondrell McGee and was probably the most likely one to end up at a different position. Moody out of Coppel is probably the headliner of the group, as Rivals has him as the state’s top back and he’s right on the verge of being a 5-star player.

Of course the one recruit I’m able to go see in person and even put up a photo gallery ends up not coming to Texas.
