Our Thoughts
Brian – So much for Jamaal Charles or any other Longhorns making a run at the Heisman trophy this season. He was a long shot anyways and now with Texas losing to Ohio State and Selvin Young is still looking pretty darn good he has essentially no chance. Troy Smith’s second straight very strong performance in a big game against a (supposedly) good defense moves him up over Brady Quinn and has him as my number one quarterback. He’s gaining quickly on Adrian Peterson. The Sooners are working Peterson to death and he’s putting up solid, but not ridiculous numbers. It’s becoming a very interesting race.
Matt – If Troy Smith has another big game like he did against Texas, I just might have to move him up above Adrian Peterson. I hadn’t really watched much of Smith, but I must say that I was very impressed. Chris Leak has already throw for 7 touchdowns in his first two games. I am definitely going to watch him this weak as he faces his first major test against Tennessee. Brady Quinn still isn’t performing where I think he should, so I am leaving him in the #4 spot. And Garrett Wolfe is having a major start to his senior season, averaging over 180 yards rushing per game.

You guys are so bias its not even funny. You can’t even accept defeat and give praise to a player who single handidly outclassed your D….Dude just chucked up 240 on your “Impervious Defense” and you don’t even have the galls to give him Heisman candidacy at number one even though Peterson struggled to get 130 against Tulsa….Incredible and hilarious…

How are we biased? It’s not like we like OU or anything. I have Peterson at #1 because he is the only reason OU is winning games this year. Everyone gears up to stop him, yet he still gets his yards and touchdowns. Troy Smith was impressive, but I am not totally sold.

Yeah, everyone knows Texas fans are biased and love the Sooners.
And we both said he’s quickly gaining on Peterson. I think you’re a little confused by your own bias.

Just in the fact that he beat you….that you can’t even acknowledge his ability. Last year when you had “Son of Jorel” at QB last year, everybody in Ohio felt he was the greatest player in the country and that he should win the Heisman. But if it wasn’t for the media like Espn whoring up to USC he would of won. But we acknowledged it because we saw first hand how he played and not a couple video clips or what he did 2 years ago with a star studded offense…I’m just sayin….

Why not Will Proctor at Clemson? Through 3 games, 145.4 rating, 703 yards, 6 TDs/1 INT (the latter in a blowout).
