I was looking for some other Longhorn highlights this morning and stumbled on this profile on UT volleyball and track star Destinee Hooker on YouTube. We don’t do much track or volleyball news here at this site, but it’s clear that Destinee is one of the university’s best athletes and she’s been stellar performer in two sports. Here’s the video from CSTV and CBS:
The Lady Longhorns take on the Aggies tonight on CSTV at 7pm.

I had some Hooker friends in high school. They had an older sister named Amanda or Autumn or something, so everything in school always said “A. Hooker” on it.

WELL YOU MUST BE AN AGGIE FAN JB. SO YOU HONESTLY THINK I WOULD FIT IN AS A HOOKER? I ONLY PRAY THAT YOU GROW UP AND GET A LIFE BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING YOU’LL REGRET. GOD BLESS YOU JB.

This girl and her big sister are super athletes ok? Marshert will be going to the olympics, and Destinee has not even peaked yet, but she’ll be there too, maybe high jumping maybe volleyball.

I wonder if that’s really Destinee on No. 6? If so, great — don’t take no crap off of Aggies, DH. You’re a fantastic athlete. I’ve really enjoyed watching you both on the v-ball court and the high jump apron.
The really amazing thing about Destinee is that she started school a semester early, so when she won the national HJ last year in her “freshman” year, it really should have been her senior year of high school!
I don’t know what Destinee’s future plans are, but we’ll be lucky to keep her all four years. What little money there is in track, she’s ready to start earning it. I believe her sister turned pro after her junior year.
