Is Chris Simms still hurt? Sounds like he’s still experiencing complications from his splenectomy.

Chris Simms is a piss-ant weeny who didn’t deserve to start for the Horns let alone make it to the NFL. He is nothing like his father, and whines like a pretty boy who lost his silver spoon. Who cares about Chris Simms! Talk about former Horn players who actually did something.

Just had to bring up Chris Simms, didn’t you!

I have little to complain about when it comes to the way Coach Brown does his job. (Isn’t he the lucky one! ;-D) But the big negatory that I can’t get behind me is the way he handled the Simms-Applewhite decision. It still makes me crazy after all these years!

I believe a starter’s job should be his to lose; Major’s job was given away, and that, to me, was a travesty. Simms was the superior athlete, but he was not the quarterback or field general Applewhite was. I remain convinced that had Simms been redshirted and Applewhite given his senior year, we would have had a shot at another national championship. . .maybe two! Major would have been great, and with another year of development under his belt, Simms could have had a Heisman year!

True, it’s all water under the bridge, but some things just won’t go away. For me, it was that blunder and the one the Houston Texans made not taking VY in the draft. Those are the boners that affect the face and character of teams long after the evil deeds are done.

(By the way, I have a theory that the Aggies were behind Vince’s being snubbed by the Texans. . .but don’t get me started on that!)

I stopped caring for Chris Simms when he refused to show support for Major Applewhite after being pulled against Colorado.
