The McAllen Monitor is reporting that former Horn [tag]Ramonce Taylor[/tag] is headed to the Canadian Football League. Taylor will reportedly sign with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after playing in only one game in arenafootball2 with the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. Excellent news for Taylor as the CFL is definitely a step up from afl2, and living in Winnipeg certainly sounds better than living in Hidalgo, Texas.

No other confirmation of the story is available at this time.

Great News for Ramonce!!! I had the pleasure to see him work out and its amazing how someone who has not played in 3 years did not miss a beat. He posted a 4.39 in the 40 on March 4th workout the Dallas Cowboys scouts. His scores from his pro day in March 2007 and combine improved; veritcle improved to 38 , broad jump improved to 10’11”,bench press 9 rep 225 3cone run 6.9 and L cone run 3.9 and was making 1 hand catches that still caused one say. “Oh Man that was tight”. Go do your stuff Mr Taylor, keep your head up stay , humble and watch God elevator you. You have grown to a great man it only took time and life lessons to develope you to be greater than ever.Take your small steps to get to the the top you doing right you will appreciate it more and you’ll stay longer @ teh top when you reach your goal. God Bless and Thank God for opening doors to giving you another chance.

Random question – does anyone know if Colt has ever puked during a game? I could have sworn he has.

So far he’s going to Winnipeg. How do I know? I’m his cousin and my brother and niece just talked to him recently. It’s Winnipeg that’s he’s definitely considering.

I’ve been watching the Blue Bomber website…..so far no Ramonce. Are we considering another option?? It would nice to see him have some success.

He’s here in Winnipeg and making a good impression. The rookie camp started on Wednesday and he’s one of the standouts so far. The Bombers released last year’s kick returner, so it sounds like he’s the man for that spot, at least.

From the Winnipeg Free Press (Coach Mike Kelly’s comments):

Former Texas star Ramonce Taylor was late getting on the field for training camp, but has been dynamite since his arrival.

“He’s an impressive young man athletically,” said Kelly. “He’s handled himself extremely well. He’s very personable, a very nice young man. I don’t know if I’ve seen anybody catch punts as relaxed as he does. He’s just very natural at what he does. He’s got a long way to go, he’s raw. He’s got a long way to go in learning how to play the game and how to play the position, but his natural skills certainly are impressive.

“He brings up a lot of very good questions, he is very football smart and he’s trying to adapt and embrace the Canadian game. He’s constantly asking questions that are sensible questions. He wants to do well and that’s half the battle right there.”

Guess Ramonce hasn’t got his head straight yet. He was cut by Winnipeg for questionable off field conduct. Don’t know exactly what, but it was serious enough to release him.
