Matt and I have begun a series of posts over at the Texas FanHouse looking at Saturday’s game between Texas and [tag]Oklahoma[/tag] at the State Fair of Texas. When two top teams face each other the individual match-ups can decide who wins or who loses.
Here’s the match-ups and which way we think they lean:
- OU Running Backs Vs. UT Linebackers: Edge – Oklahoma
- OU Offensive Line Vs. UT Defensive Line: Edge – Texas
- OU QB/WR/TE Vs. UT Secondary: Edge – Even
- OU Special Teams Vs. UT Special Teams: Edge – Texas
- OU Defensive Line Vs. UT Offensive Line: Edge – Texas
- OU Secondary Vs. UT QB/WR/TE: Edge – Texas
- OU Linebackers Vs. UT Running Backs: Edge – Texas

I have a comment on the OU Secondary vs. UT QB/WR/TE. I think the edge goes to TX. OU has be vunerable all year to the longball, their pass defense is ranked 60th in the nation currently. Although I know that Colt has been largely untested to date, I think the kid has enough confidence, quality receivers and guts to throw a few punishing long balls, especially in the 4th quarter.
