Well, it’s official folks. USC has just completed one of the biggest choke jobs in college football history. With their spot secure in the BCS Championship game, they fail to beat the lowly UCLA Bruins as 14 point favorites. And as bad as I was feeling with Texas football, this surely brightens my college football season.
The big question now is what will ESPN do for the next month without being able to hype USC? Will they shut down? Will they still go ahead and rank this season’s team against the greatest of all-time? Or will they just focus on the New Orleans Saints and Reggie Bush? Who knows, but it sure feels good to be able to watch SportsCenter again.
Update: It looks like HD Buttercup in West L.A. will be giving away a lot of free furniture. They promised that if you spent at least $2,000 on furniture before kick-off and UCLA wins, everything is free. Bet they weren’t counting on it coming true. Ha.

The look on Pete Carrol’s face after the game was priceless.

How sweet it is!
The only thing I am sad about is USC could of been the first team in a long time to lose two championships in a row!
Ohio State all the way!

Did you see when Booty looked like he was about to cry? Reminds me of Leinart when he lost to us.

I thought this season was pretty much over for all of us horn’s fans. But thank god for UCLA, with the upset of USC, that has definitely made my season. I am, so sick of hearing how great USC is. The only reason they get the hype they do is because they are in the biggest media market in the world, that is the only reason why the 2005 Hesiman Trophy resides in L.A. instead of Austin. It is funny how fast Mark May, Lee Corso and every other USC bandwagon jumper from ESPN jumped off as soon as the game was over. USC is overrated and as far I am concerned the rest of the PAC-10 is right there with them. I will definitely enjoy this day until the first of January rolls around with what hopes to be a Gator Bowl victory. Hook ‘Em Horns!

The Trojans got outplayed and beaten. But that apparently isn’t enough. You can’t refrain from hyperbole? Plenty of teams staring down a BCS title birth have lost on the final weekend. The biggest upset of 2006, fine, but really, objectively, one of the biggest upsets of all time? That’s a goddamn stupid comment.
Isn’t your team waiting, just hoping on the Gator Bowl with three losses? Difficult for Longhorn’s fans to take vengeful glee in a Trojan’s team who is going to their fifth straight BCS bowl and I promise you will end up #1 or #2 in the preseason polls next year.
Have fun in…Jacksonville…I guess.

I didn’t say the biggest upset of all-time, but it is definitely one of the bigger “CHOKE” jobs of all-time. You have the title game all but wrapped up, and you can’t win as 14 point favorites? Come on now. That is about as bad as it gets.

Anybody seen pictures of Carroll or Booty online after the game? Their faces were oh so priceless and I’m having trouble finding these opportunities to poke at the hated trojans. If you come across any such pictures could you link them here for me? Thanks!

For me personally, in case you haven’t noticed, USC is one of my most hated teams, only barely below Oklahoma.

Kinda like the Big 12 South. You’re just barely BELOW Oklahoma.
