Matt Leinart is still whining about losing to Texas in the 2006 Rose Bowl, but now it’s actually kind of amusing in a pretty decent new commercial for NCAA Football ’08 from EA Sports:
They could have rewritten the ending of the game a little more realistically, instead of Leinart suddenly becoming a scrambling dynamo. Or for ultimate accuracy, they could have shown him quietly sobbing on the sideline.
This is actually part of a series of commercials for the game with players talking about how they’d rewrite history. Others include Texas beating Oklahoma in 2004 (haven’t seen that one yet) and OU stuffing Boise State’s Statue of Liberty play to win the Fiesta Bowl. NCAA Football ’08 will be in stores on July 17th for current and next-gen game systems.

Brian, Texas did not beat Oklahoma in football in 2004 if thats what you are referring to. Maybe in another sport, but not in football. Texas snapped the 5 game losing streak to the Sooners in 2005. Its alright though, everyone is wrong sometime. BOOMER SOONER!!

No kidding dude, just like OU didn’t beat Boise State and USC lost the Rose Bowl. That’s the whole point of the commercials.

Here is something i can bring up brian. Texas leads the series 57-38 , against OU. whether or not we beat ya’ll in 05 or ya’ll beat us in 04. We have the upper hand in this rival. And we all know Matt L. cant scramble like that. Thats obviously why he did it on the video game, cause he couldnt do it in real life. Hook’Em Horns

Brian, I missed the whole “rewrite” part. My mistake. And how do you Texas fans feel about this years upcoming Red River Shootout? This years Oklahoma is packed with talent, so I advise you all not to overlook the Sooners. And OU CB Reggie Smith will show Limas Sweed why OU’s Malcolm Kelly and the Pokes’ Adarius Bowman were picked ahead of Sweed in the preseason All Big 12 team. BOOMER SOONER!!
