3-0 win and 18Ks out of 21. Not bad, not bad at all.

UT's New ScoreboardIf you are a fan of High Definition television, then you better make it to a Texas Longhorns home game this season. The Longhorns will be unveiling a new 134 ft x 55 ft (that is 7370 sq ft folks!) HD LED scoreboard, replacing the current 70 ft x 70 ft currently in place. And this is coming just a month after the Dolphins announced their new HD scoreboard, which at the was the world’s largest HD LED screen. Too bad for them they are about 400 sq ft short.

This addition is part of a large overhaul of DKR Texas Memorial Stadium, including $8 million in audio-visual improvements and $150 million to renovate the north end of the stadium to allow for 90,000+ in seating capacity.

Unfortunately the Longhorns will not be able to hold the title of having the world’s largest HD screen for very long, as a horse track in Tokyo has plans of installing a 197 ft screen sometime this year. Though I guess we can say we have the largest screen in the Western hemisphere.

Update: TexasSports now has a live webcam up of the construction of the scoreboard.

Vince YoungMan, it sure feels good to see Vince get off the board so early in the draft. So much craziness happened with the top 2 picks I had no idea what was going to happen to Vince.

I think Tennessee is a good fit for Vince, considering he has a chance to learn from Steve McNair who had a similar playing style when he came out of college. What I think is most interesting about this pick though, is that even Norm Chow couldn’t get Matt Leinart to come to the Titans. Definitely a telling sign if you ask me.

More analysis to come later. Now it is time to go and buy a Tennessee Titans jersey.

Update

Titans just picked up LenDale White with the 35th overall pick, best overall running back in the entire draft for Vince to hand off to now. Kind of wondering why he fell this far, but could be an absolute steal for the Titans. (5:19 pm)

Not bad to have the endorsement of one of the greatest QBs of all-time.

Who says that college athletes don’t get paid? Because apparently Reggie Bush did pretty well for himself while at USC, considering that his parents were able to move from an apartment outside San Diego to a $757,000 house on Apple Lane. The Pac-10 says that they are investigating the Bush family home, but this is about as obvious as it gets. Michael Michaels (what kind of name is that anyway) is the registered owner of the house and has ties in the sports marketing world. If this violation holds up, USC would have to forfeit all games Bush played in while this infraction took place, although I am not sure how much good that really does, especially since they lost the only game that really mattered against Texas in the Rose Bowl.

Reggie Bush's Posh Family Home

What I don’t get about this whole thing is how something like this can go unnoticed for a whole year? Didn’t anyone go and visit Reggie Bush’s family and notice that they are suddenly living like royalty? It seems kind of hard to cover up a three-quarter of a million dollar home.

But honestly, I am really not all that surprised, considering they have a history of committing NCAA violations. And now that we know that Reggie Bush has no integrity, I wonder if this will affect his draft status? Probably not, but I can still hope that Vince somehow makes it to the Texans or Cowboys.

Texas vs. Penn Round 1 Preview - LaMarcus Aldridge Scores

According to Dallas radio station 1310 The Ticket, LaMarcus Aldridge has recently met with coach Rick Barnes to discuss entering the NBA draft. And as a result of their conversation, Aldridge has decided to start the process of looking for agents.

Aldridge has previously said that he will stay for his junior year, but we all know the chance of that happening was about as good as when Vince Young said he was going to stay. It definitely is a shame though, since Aldridge really could have used another year in college to gain some strength and a better low-post presence.
