Vince Young is SI.com's number 2 player in the Big XIISports Illustrated has posted their top 10 players in the Big XII. Not too much you I can argue with, though I don’t really see the reasoning for putting in a kicker I’ve barely heard of and missed two extra points last year instead of someone like Justin Blalock, Aaron Harris, Davin Joseph, Jarrett Hicks, or Michael Huff.

Their top three? Adrian Peterson, Vince Young, and Reggie McNeal are pretty indisputable, but I think I’d shuffle the order a little. I think Peterson misses at least a game or two with his nagging shoulder problems and his o-line isn’t close to the caliber it was last year. I’d move Vince to the head of the class and drop a healthy Peterson to two or number three if he gets banged up.

By the way, is it just me or is this the worst hold you’ve ever seen by Jonathan Scott?

Texas' retro uniformsIt was announced a couple of weeks ago but they’ve now officially unveiled the throwback uniforms the Horns will wear against Louisiana-Lafayette. The uniforms will be worn for the September 3rd home game to honor the 1963 national championship team. The burnt orange jerseys are very similar to the current ones, but with the Texas removed from the front. The helmets add orange player numerals above the traditional longhorn logo.

I kind of wish they had decided to wear the throwbacks for the 100th Texas – OU game, but then of course we’d have to wear them forever if we win or burn them if we lost. I guess that game is special enough without any uniform changes.

Finally. Much cleaner and modern than the old design.
