Like most athletes who are about to be drafted in the NFL, Michael Huff is looking forward to purchasing a new house. But his dream is just a tad bit different than you might expect. He doesn’t want to buy a normal house. No. He wants to buy an International House of Pancakes. I am not sure if this is refreshing or just plain weird.
The first house I buy will be the one with the blue roof on it that says “IHOP.” It has been a dream of mine to own my own International House of Pancakes, and someday I will. Just last week I ate there five or six times, and about every time I got the same thing, pancakes and shrimp. It’s a cool feeling to know that someday I’ll get to eat at my IHOP whenever I want.
Probably one of the coolest intros to a site that I have ever seen…
Sewell Hummer in Plano, TX is releasing their 2006 Hummer H2 Longhorn Special Edition. Now this could possibly be one of the more gaudy cars I have ever seen, but isn’t it just beautiful? I personally would probably not drive one, but I am sure that they have already received a few orders for the car.
Also, I am pretty curious as to what the price will be for this “Special Edition.” My guess is around $80,000. What do you guys/girls think?
Update
You can also get a Longhorn edition Hummer H3. It looks even uglier and doesn’t have the longhorn on the front grill, which I think is the coolest part of the H2.
Someone sent me this hilarious quote about Vince Young and Marcus Vick.
“Texas quarterback Vince Young has decided to go pro, and Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick has decided to go con.”
So true. So true.
USC’s 1-Peat Part 2. I love it. Yet more people jumping on the USC 1-Peat bandwagon. (via)
Maybe now they can start paying their players some decent money.
It looks like everything is set for the National Championship celebration. I am not sure if I will be able to make it, but I definitely need to head down there some time to get some NC gear. There are also some pretty cool wallpapers available.
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas will honor the 2005 Longhorn National Championship football team in a celebration set for Sun., Jan. 15, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Longhorn players and coaches from the school-record setting 13-0 squad as well as the UT band, cheerleaders, Bevo and other spirit groups will be in attendance.
Gates will open for the event at 3:30 p.m. (Central) and the program will begin at 5 p.m. Video highlights of the year will be running on the Jumbotron in the stadium beginning at 3:30 p.m. UT’s Tower will be re-lit, bathed in orange with the No. 1 on all four sides, in honor of UT’s fourth National Championship team, at 6 p.m.
The Longhorn LTD stores, located on both the East and West side of the stadiums, will be open during the celebration as will the stadium’s concession stands.
The Westside upper deck of the stadium will be closed due to construction.
I don’t know about you, but I was tired of hearing about USC going for their 3rd straight National Championship. Did the media just forget about LSU in 2003 or what? And now with USC losing to Texas, I have created an image for USC fans to celebrate their 2004 1-peat. Remember, LSU won the ADT National Championship trophy in 2003, USC won it in 2004, and now Texas is the 2005 champion.

* Both Auburn and Utah were also undefeated that season.
Update: Looks like some other people agree with me. Check out One-Peat.com.
Mark May: Well, the apostles weigh about 160# apiece on average and….USC’s OL averages 300 apiece. I’m saying SC runs on God’s chosen.
Herbstreit: Don’t forget Carrol would have a whole month to game plan for the Lord. I bet in that one month that he could find a way to blitz, get the ball to Jarrett on slants. Y’know.
Lou Holtz: What if God, like they told us at Sister Mary of Ignatius, where I was taught by Mother Francine, God rest her soul, what if the Living God sent a wave of locusts and a famine on USC’s defense?
May: How much do the locusts weigh?
Holtz: Shaddup.
Herbstreit: Coach. I, ugh, know what you’re saying but I gotta still pick USC over the Lord of the Heavens and the Oceans. A famine could affect USC’s run game but then how do you shut down that passing game?

#6 Oregon (10-1) vs. OU (7-4) Dec. 24, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN) Favorite: Oregon by 3 |
![]() |
This is a game that has been on my radar for some time now. On paper, this looks like an easy victory for #6 Oregon, but the line only having Oregon as 3 point favorites tells you another story. Oklahoma has won 5 out of its last 6 and Adrian Peterson back and healthy again. We all knew that Rhett Bomar would struggle early on, but he has been gaining confidence and actually been playing semi-solid over the past few games.
Bottom-line for Oregon is that they have QB issues, with Dennis Dixon and Brady Leaf splitting time since Clemens injury. And if you Brady Leaf (Ryan Leaf’s brother) gets in the game, you know the San Diego crowd is going to be all over him. Also, I don’t really see Oregon getting up for this game after being outraged from being left out of the BCS.
I think Oklahoma wins this one in a close game, and for the second straight year a Big 12 team upsets a 10-1 Pac-10 team.
Players to Watch: Oregon WR Demetrius Williams, Oklahoma RB Adrian Peterson
Prediction: Oklahoma 34, Oregon 30
If Texas was in the Holiday Bowl…
If Kellen Clemens were healthy the score wouldn’t be this lopsided but Texas still probably puts a ton of points on the board. They’re not terrible on that side of the ball but they haven’t stopped anybody this year either. Since losing their starting QB the Ducks haven’t been the same team on offense and would definitely struggle to get anything going against the Horns. Texas 49, Oregon 10.
Different but not too much closer ball game now that Peterson is healthy. With him and a more experienced Bomar the Sooners hold on to the ball longer and put together a few more scoring drives than they were able to back in October. Texas is really rolling on offense right now but would score fewer points as the Sooners attempt to control the clock and keep the Horns’ offense off the field. Texas 42, OU 20.
