Our Thoughts

Brian – I really thought Florida had a chance to go undefeated this year, then Alabama went and trounced them. The Tide probably should be higher (though not as high as Berg has them!) but I’m hesitant to jump a team all the way from 17th to my top 5. It won’t take too much more to make me a believer though. With where Ohio State is now and where Texas Tech has a good chance to be ranked by the time Texas plays them, the Horns should be sitting pretty if they win the rest of their games. As much as I despise Notre Dame, I can’t keep them down too low after the way they went out and beat another team I thought was going to be good this year (Purdue). Should be a great weekend of football, of course there’s the Red River Rivalry in Dallas but Ohio State at Penn State should be a fantastic game as well.

Matt –Man these polls are fun. I am again trying to rate teams on performances to-date, and I think Alabama has really earned their spot this week. They just slaughtered Florida, and did you see that Prothro broken leg? I almost got sick when I saw it. I wasn’t all that impressed with Southern Cal, so I am dropping them yet another spot. It was disappointing to see most of the teams I gave a chance to in the Top 25 lose, so I am bringing back a few of the usual names. And as always, any feedback on my Top 25 is welcome.
