I swear, everytime I read some poll dealing with colleges, Texas seems to be #1 on the charts.
Now this one should come as no surprise, as Texas topped the list of the biggest college football money-makers bringing in a whopping $53,204,171. What was shocking though, is that Texas A&M came in at #10 with $38,359,977. I guess the difference between #1 and #10 is a 7,000 sq ft video board versus a 4,000 sq ft video board.
- Texas $53,204,171
- Ohio State $51,810,607
- Georgia $50,895,838
- Michigan $46,396,107
- Florida $43,417,641
- Alabama $42,979,669
- Notre Dame $41,754,817
- Auburn $40,563,927
- Louisiana State $40,107,764
- Texas A&M $38,359,977
I wonder when ESPN will start ranking this years’ USC team among the greatest.
The veterans have decided to stop shining Bush’s shoes for one whole week, just to show him who’s boss.

The University of Texas has just annouced a new campaign to promote good sportsmanship among fans, suitably titled “Texas Fans Make Us Proud.”
Definitely an interesting choice of words, as depending on the enunciation they are either:
(a) telling us we make them proud, or (b) telling us to make them proud.
They have also included some hilarious supporting images to help us understand just what they mean:

Come early, be loud, stay late, wear orange.

Welcome visiting teams and their fans.

Respect the game officials.

If you drink alcohol, know your limit and stay well under it.

Watch your language. Remember the stands are filled with children.
Man, I feel better about knowing what to do, how about you?
We learned about the 2006-2007 Texas Pom Squad yesterday and today I give you proof that Longhorn cheerleaders are more than just good looks, they’re intelligent and amusing as well. It’s amazing the wonderful things you can spell with the letters T, E, X, A, and S:

What does it say about me that I noticed the ‘S’ was upside down? American Pie taught us about band camp, I wonder why no film has given us a peek into what I’m sure is the purely educational world of cheerleading camps. Maybe that’s in a different section of the video store.
The video is a little long, but it should get you pumped up for the season.
Apparently no one likes him over at ASU. Seems like a good pick-up for Nebraska though.
Seems very impressed by Colt McCoy and a new, slimmer Selvin Young.
