Jeff Fisher & Vince Young work to find right recipe. To me either Vince or the coaches have hamstrung him too much and aren’t letting him be himself.

Trenton NJ paper headline: Clemens Took It in the Butt. Can’t believe a non-college paper would run with that. Funny though.

ESPN ranks NFL QB’s from 1 to 64. Vince is 15th, David Carr is 63rd. Ouch.

ESPN is reporting that a source has told them that [tag]Roger Clemens[/tag] will be named in the MLB steroid investigation headed up by former US Senator George Mitchell. Former Yankees trainer Brian McNamee reportedly provided information to the investigation on Clemens, Andy Pettitte, and several other big name Yankees.

From ESPN…

A former New York Yankees strength trainer says information he provided to the George Mitchell investigation regarding supplying Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte with steroids is included in the Mitchell report scheduled to be released later today, a source close to the trainer told ESPN The Magazine’s Shaun Assael.

Brian McNamee, who worked for the Yankees and as a personal trainer for Clemens and Pettitte, also told investigators that on at least one occasion, Clemens was in possession of steroids from another supplier, the source said.

The source said McNamee told investigators he supplied Clemens with steroids while Clemens was with the Yankees, and prior to Clemens joining the team.

The rumors aren’t new but this is certainly disappointing news. We’ll have more reaction when all the details of the Mitchell report are released this afternoon.

Update: As had been rumored Clemens’ name was in fact in the report. The trainer McNamee claims that he personally injected Clemens, Pettitte, and former Aggie Chuck Knoblauch. Through his lawyer Clemens denied ever using steroids or human growth hormone, but Pettitte admitted to using HGH in 2002 to recover from an arm injury. (12/15/2007)

For the third time since he left Texas, [tag]TJ Ford[/tag] had to be carried off a basketball court on a stretcher last night late in the Raptors win against the Hawks. Ford had played very well throughout game (26 points & 8 assists) when he stole the ball and was off on a breakaway late in the 4th quarter. Hawks’ forward Al Horford tried to stop TJ’s drive to the basket and reached out and nailed him across the face. TJ’s head snapped back from the force of the hit and then again when his body hit the hardwood. Horford was called for a flagrant foul and ejected for the play.

ESPN video of the game and the play are below:

It’s scary to watch TJ laying on the ground screaming in pain, especially because of his history. He looks like he is scared and in an incredible amount of pain. The good news is that he had feeling in his arms and legs when he was taken off the floor. He was expected to be kept in the hospital at least overnight, but there have been no updates yet this morning on how he’s doing. We’ll post any news as we hear it.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to TJ for a speedy recovery.

Update: Ford was released from the hospital this morning. All X-rays and an MRI were negative. He was able to fly back to Toronto and was given a standing ovation when he entered the arena and joined his teammates on the bench. No word yet on when TJ might be back in action. (10:38pm)

Norm Chow to UCLA? I haven’t been overly impressed with his NFL work so I think Vince will be fine without him if he leaves.
