After only two carries, [tag]Cedric Benson[/tag] may be done for the night. His first carry of the night he coughed up the football after a big hit from Colts’ safety Bob Sanders and his second carry may have been his last. He ran into his own lineman and then was nailed with a helmet-to-helmet hit by one of the Colts’ defenders. Benson was slow to get up after the play and CBS is reporting that he injured his knee and his return to the game is doubtful.
Tough break for Benson who had really been coming on late in the year and in the playoffs. Tough luck for the Bears as well as I’m sure part of their game plan was to bang away at the porous Indy defense with Benson and Thomas Jones. If Benson returns from the injury and is able to score a touchdown, he’d be the first ever Longhorn to do so in a Super Bowl.
Update: CBS’ sideline guy is now reporting that the Bears have ruled Benson out for the game. He will not be returning.
Yesterday at the Super Bowl, Vince Young found out he was voted the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Year.

On the heels of winning the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year award at the Super Bowl, [tag]Vince Young[/tag] has just been named to his first Pro Bowl (as a Rookie!), replacing Philip Rivers who could not go because of an injury.
Actually, VY was the second alternate behind Tom Brady, who probably withdrew because he was mad he wasn’t selected initially. As a player, you probably don’t want to go as an alternate, but I see this as only the first of many Pro Bowls to come for Vince Young.
So congrats to VY on a great season and getting rewarded for it. He deserves it.
Cedric Benson is making the best of splitting carries with Thomas Jones and doing a better job not saying anything stupid.
The Dolphins’ coaching staff will decide on whether they want Ricky Williams to return.
Vasher’s mom has to prepare for the Super Bowl too. Man, I had no idea, hopefully she can watch the game ok.
Former Horn WR Kyle Shanahan is the new quarterbacks coach of the Houston Texans.

Don’t have enough Texas Longhorn gear or Vince Young memorabilia around the house? Get yourself a pair of the Reebok Men’s Agility Trainer VY so you can look like Vince Young when you’re sitting on the couch watching Vince Young on TV. The $75 cross trainers come in two different color options, “Texas? or “Tennessee? depending on your tastes and when you jumped on the VY bandwagon.
The shoes actually look pretty good, especially the “Texas? ones. They’re not overly obnoxious, just a solid looking white shoe with some burnt orange accents. Actually looks like something you could wear in public and not just to Longhorn games. Amazon.com actually has almost the exact same shoes but with the VY logo on the tongue instead of the Rbk, but they’re sold out of pretty much every size. I wonder if you can find them in stores in that version.
As a consultant for the Texans Dan Reeves endorsed Vince Young for the number one pick.
UT ex Roy Williams named to Pro Bowl to replace injured Rams’ WR Torry Holt on the NFC roster.
