Chevrolet’s PrepTicket has some good video up on their profile of future Longhorn wide receiver [tag]DeSean Hales[/tag]:
Hales is a running back and receiver for Klein Oak High School and is just flat out fun to watch. Kid is going to bring some much needed elite speed to the offense when he gets on campus. He might be able to really have a big impact on kick returns starting as early as his true freshman year.

Well it wasn’t pretty but the Longhorns survived today against [tag]Central Florida[/tag] with a 35 – 32 victory. The Longhorns haven’t been much fun to watch this season but it sure as hell is better to be 3 – 0 than be Notre Dame or UCLA. Check out highlights from the game below…
We’ll have more thoughts on the game tomorrow.
USC kicker Mario Danelo fell to his death this winter. To honor their teammate they intentionally took a delay of game penalty with no kicker on the field after their first touchdown against Idaho. Watch the video below:
Watching the video gave me chills. It reminded me of the 2001 North Carolina game when Major Applewhite took a knee to keep the score at 44 to honor [tag]Cole Pittman[/tag]. It was an incredibly touching moment and I felt honored just to be a part of it.
RIP Mario and Cole.

Mark Mangino almost eats kick returner. Player was saved when assistant coach distracts him with a Twinkie.
I love the interweb. Video of Appalachian State pulling the biggest upset in college football history as they toppled #5 ranked Michigan in Ann Arbor this afternoon is already up on YouTube. Check out the last 1:47 of the game:
Wow. This is why college football is a thousand times better than the NFL. What an incredible experience for those Appalachian State kids.
I’m sure Mack Brown is bringing this game up in the Texas locker room right about now.
ESPN is again running their ESPNU Championship Series where their “experts” go week by week predicting who will win all the big games and ranking the teams. Check out the video below of Rece Davis, Lou Holtz, and Mark May discussing week six, including the Red River Rivalry:
I’m not sure why Holtz and May think Texas winning would be an upset. If Texas and [tag]Oklahoma[/tag] both reach October undefeated as they expect, since Texas is ranked higher in both the preseason AP and Coaches poll Texas would likely be favored to win this game. The idea that it would be an upset bothers me more than May and Davis picking the Sooners. Of course earlier this week Davis predicted Texas would win the Big 12 and appear in the BCS title game. I’m not sure how that would work. Stuff like this is why I have to put “experts” in quotes.
The main reason I posted this is to point out ESPN’s new video site. It’s a surprisingly nice, YouTube-y embeddable flash site that is still in beta. They’re putting a ton of quality videos up there featuring highlights from SportsCenter and obviously their features as well. You can even comment on and rate videos. Looks like a nice start from their new editor-in-chief.

Listen carefully during the technical difficutlies for some NSFW fun:
I’m not sure exactly why but I found that incredibly funny. I used to kind of like Lee Corso but his act has really beat me down the last few years and his incident on The Ticket made him look like a gigantic jerk.
The expletive just comes out of nowhere with no warning. I can’t stop watching and laughing, and laughing and watching. The apology at the end from Karl Ravech Chris Fowler is a nice touch, it totally makes up for the the way they violated my virgin ears.
I did actually like Desmond Howard Rocket Ismail better that way. He seemed more intelligent than when you can actually hear what he’s saying. Maybe this year I’ll watch all of College GameDay on mute.

In case you want to know what is going on in the Big 12 this year, all you need to do is watch the following video. Kige Ramsey brings you a whopping 30 seconds of hilarity. I guess this guy is about 20 years old, but sounds like he is 40. If you listen to Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket in Dallas, then you may have already heard this today. Enjoy.
Interestingly enough, he is also a Tennessee Titans and Vince Young fan. He has plenty more hilarious segments, including some of my favorites after the jump.
I am pretty sure no one will ever be able to do what Vince did for Texas, but [tag]John Chiles[/tag] sure looks promising. Chiles speed is impressive and he can juke like a running back. Needless to say he needs to get some playing time in the near future.
