Only UCLA in 1998 was in this spot and didn’t play in the BCS title game.
Gibson, Buckman, Tucker, & Aldridge give Texas the talent & the pieces for a championship run.
The Texas Longhorn 2005 seniors will, barring a collapse of never before seen proportions, leave school with more wins than any other group in UT history. The eleven guys, including future NFL first round draft picks Jon Scott, David Thomas, and Michael Huff, have helped earn the program national respect and removed the “soft” label that had been applied during the early Mack Brown years.
They’re only three wins away from a national championship and history.
We knew Jevan Snead would be in town for the game this weekend, and apparently he had himself a good time watching the Horns thrash the Kansas Jayhawks. He has officially switched his committment from Florida to Texas and intends on being a Longhorn…
“I’m a Texas boy, born and raised, and feel that I owe it to my family, my friends and all of the great fans in the state of Texas to stay here. Therefore I’d like to announce that I’ve committed to The University of Texas.”
Great to hear those comments from a Texas kid. I don’t know how a top athlete in the state could possibly turn down a chance to play for the Longhorns. Jevan will be graduating from Stephenville High School this December and enrolling at Texas for the spring semester.
It’s been a great weekend for the University of Texas and Longhorn fans.
A couple of shots of Mack Brown and Vince Young having a grand old time.
Texas’ 152 unanswered points since the first half of the Oklahoma State game is flat out domination.
“I do not think I have ever been on a field where I have seen so many big, strong, fast and talented kids.”
[tag]Chris Simms[/tag] is looking really good today. Very efficient and led his team to 28 points so far against a tough Washington defense. He hasn’t made any mistakes and he’s done a good job leading an offense that isn’t blocking well and isn’t running the ball hardly at all anymore. That said, he still throws the ball way too low and gets too many passes knocked down. I don’t think its really a mechanics thing, so I don’t know how you fix it. With the athletes on the defensive line in the NFL, he’s going to have those picked off every now and then and those would be killers.
With less than a minute to go, Simms just led his team to a game-tying touchdown. He hit his wide receiver with a beautiful pass for a 30-yard TD. Wait a second, screw the tie. After two penalties on the Redskins on the extra point try, John Gruden sends the offense out there for the two point conversion. Mike Alstott barely gets in and the conversion is good. Tampa Bay leads 36 – 35.
Troy Aikman and Joe Buck are really hyping him right now and talking about how far he’s come. Glad to see Chris succeeding as he’s always represented the university very well. He’s a Texas Longhorn and even Major Applewhite supporters should be cheering him on.
It’s sad how half of the articles in the Kansas papers mentioned how terrible Texas fans are.
Or maybe it was “impressive.”
