Selvin Young rushes for 109 yards and first career TD against Chiefs while Priest Holmes gets first start since 2005.

Kevin Durant and the Seattle SuperSonics are one step closer to moving to Oklahoma City. Sucks for him, guarantee he doesn’t re-sign when his contract is up.

He struggled in his NBA debut last night but [tag]Kevin Durant[/tag] picked up his game against the Phoenix Suns in a loss. He still hasn’t quite found his shot yet but scored 27 points and helped keep Seattle in it until the fourth quarter. Highlights from ESPN are below:

He played more minutes than everyone else, made less than 50% of his shots, and jacked up six threes but showed flashes of what he’s going to be capable of very soon. You know he’s going to be big time when he drops 27 points on a very good team (with an admittedly suspect defense) and all anyone can talk about it is what he’s going to do when he’s really ready.

It looks like we’ll get to see the Sonics a lot on national television this season thanks to Kevin, but you’re going to need to be a night owl to watch them play. Their first two games started at about 9:30 pm Central so by halftime it was already way past my bedtime. The next few games will only by available on Fox Northwest but fans who get NBA TV will be able to see Durant and the Sonics against the Pistons on November 11th.

Kevin Durant to start tonight against Nuggets. Made it through shootaround on his bum ankle and should be good to go.

Vince Young likely to start Sunday against Raiders. Might not be 100% but they think he won’t re-injure his quad.

It looks like [tag]Priest Holmes[/tag] is on the verge of finally making his NFL return. He returned to the practice field for the Kansas City Chiefs this week for the first time since suffering a spinal injury October 2005. ESPN has video of Priest’s first day back below:

The Chiefs also traded away former #2 running back Michael Bennett, a signal that they’re expecting Holmes to contribute immediately. Larry Johnson is clearly the team’s featured back, I expect Priest to see playing time mostly on third downs due to his excellent receiving and blitz pickup skills. Bennett only carried the ball 20 times in six games but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Holmes get 6 – 8 carries per game once he’s in game shape.

There is still no official word if Holmes will be activated in time to play in this Sunday’s Chiefs – Raiders game, but all signs point to him being ready for a limited role. We’ll have updates when we hear anything new on his status.

Update: The Chiefs have activated Holmes for Sunday’s game against the Raiders.

Vince’s quad is improving, but he’s still questionable against the Texans. Ahmard Hall is still being held out as well for the Titans.

Roy Williams delivers pizzaAfter his comments about not tipping pizza delivery men on a Detroit radio station, former Longhorn wide receiver [tag]Roy Williams[/tag] made up for it a little by spending his afternoon Tuesday delivering pizzas himself.

Working for a Dearborn area Pizza Hut, Roy tried to wear his green Longhorn camp but had to put on a black Pizza Hut cap to be in full uniform. Roy made a stop by a local Boys and Girls Club and drove probably the most expensive delivery vehicle ever (is that an Escalade or a Tahoe?) to deliver a pizza to the home of a former Pizza Hut employee.

I’m really glad Roy is the way he is and it’s good that he takes care of his money, but you’ve got to take care of the little people when you get the chance. He’s living a blessed life and it doesn’t hurt to pass that on now and then.

Vince Young day to day with quadriceps strain. Hopefully he’s healthy enough to lay a beating on the Texans next Sunday.

Aaron Ross has two interceptions and a touchdown in NY Giants win. He’s getting more and more playing time and performing well.
