It wasn’t pretty for a half and I’m still not sure if the offense knows what it’s doing sometimes, but thanks to great defensive play and of course overwhelming talent the Longhorns pulled out the win over the Wyoming Cowboys. A win is a win, but in the sad era of the BCS the Horns have to play better if they want a chance at another national title.

The Texas defense hounded QB Cody Hawkins all night

The Texas defense hit QB Cody Hawkins often

The Texas Longhorns played their toughest opponent of the season Saturday but still dominated against the Colorado Buffaloes. The defense was downright dominant and the CU quarterback will be seeing the Texas defensive linemen and linebackers in his dreams for weeks. We’ll find out in less than a week what the Longhorns are made of.

The Longhorns played their most complete game of the season in Saturday’s 52 – 10 thrashing of former SWC foe [tag]Arkansas[/tag]. The offense was sharp from the very first snap of the game and the defense dominated their SEC opponent. The victory was one of the most lopsided in the series’ long and storied history.

Colt McCoy bulldozes a Rice defender

For nearly a minute the Rice Owls led the Texas Longhorns on the scoreboard Saturday evening, but eventually the world righted itself and the Horns scored 31 straight points. Other than two fumbles the offense was near perfect against the Owls and after a shaky start the defense was nearly as good. Texas dominated the final three quarters (particularly the second half) and the final score ended up Rice 10, Texas 52.

Chykie Brown nails the UTEP QB

It was an awkward and somehow unsatisfying victory for the Texas Longhorns Saturday night (and into Sunday morning) against the UTEP Miners. Only Longhorn fans could be unsatisfied after a relatively easy 29-point win, but that’s definitely the general feeling among the faithful today. Let’s take a stroll around the web to see what everyone else is saying about the game…
