An Aggie writing in to the San Antonio Express-News‘ Richard Oliver claims that Kyle Field’s scoreboard was impotent smaller than DKR’s Godzillatron on purpose. Typical Aggie logic…

Not a question, but a fact: Texas A&M rolled out plans BEFORE the Longhorns to install the new scoreboard. It’s pretty obvious that the scoreboard at Kyle Field was well-planned, thus our avoidance of some oversized billboard like that in Austin.
– Mark Wildon, Houston

I was going to call him a moron, but he (or maybe Oliver) linked to Bevo Sports in his comment so I’ll refrain.

I distinctly remember learning about Texas’ new scoreboard before Texas A&M’s was announced. I remember Aggies on TexAgs being all excited when they heard about their MiniTron and then we linked them to details of Godzillatron to shut them up. Not sure of the exact time frame of any of this but it’s close enough and we clearly weren’t trying to copy them. We are the Joneses.

This movie is definite Academy Award material for next year, but will probably be banned in Bryan/College Station.

Coming soon to a theater near you:

A genetic engineering experiment goes horribly wrong, turning sheep into bloodthirsty killers. From the same effects studio behind Lord of the Rings, Black Sheep will be in theaters June 22nd.

Get ready for the violence of the lambs.

(Watch higher quality version)

Update: Well talk about coincidence, the movie will be making it’s US premier at SXSW in Austin Saturday night at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Texas’ freshmen overcome Acie Law’s heroics and now have a shot at the Big 12 title.

Saw this when it happened during last night’s game and thought it was hilarious. Just a couple seconds left in the second overtime and Damion James decides to give A.J. Abrams a hard slap on the ass while he’s bent over waiting for Acie Law to shoot his free throws. A.J. turns around looking to fight somebody before he realize it was teammate.

Still funny. (via)

This is now almost two weeks old but it’s new to me and hilarious.

On February 3rd Texas A&M won a huge game over Kansas for their first victory over the Jayhawks ever. It was a great win for Billy Clyde Gillespie and the Aggies over a top 10 team so it’s understandable that the fans were excited. Heck I even understand storming the court after such a big victory.

There’s only one problem… the game was in freaking Kansas.

Typical Aggies.

Richard Justice is either joking or smoking something, he thinks A&M has passed Texas in football.

The match-up in the Holiday Bowl against California should be a tough one for the Horns. DeSean Jackson is a badass and the Texas secondary has been…

Wait… isn’t Texas playing in the Alamo Bowl versus Iowa? Texas A&M is in the Holiday Bowl, right? Well someone might want to inform Desmond Howard of that:

It actually sounds like Howard did his research on this mythical game between Texas and Cal. He even knew the (relatively) breaking news that Jevan Snead had decided to transfer to Ole Miss. He had all week to prepare for his 30-second segment and he botched it big time. Doh. Brad from the 12th Manchild said that Desmond actually made the same mistake both before the game and then again at halftime, though they might just have reaired the same segment.

Just another in the long list of colossal mistakes by ESPN/ABC in their coverage of sports and college football specifically. I never thought I’d be saying this, but I miss Trev Alberts.
