Irving Macarthur linebacker [tag]Tariq Allen[/tag] was one of the most sought after defensive prospects in Texas this spring before commiting to the Longhorns this week. Allen has offers from Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Kansas and national programs like Michigan and Notre Dame were showing heavy interest as well in the speedy middle linebacker. Now you can see for yourself why so many teams are after him.
It’s not the Rivals’ video I mentioned earlier, but it is definitely a lot of the same highlights. Check out video from Allen’s junior year below:
Impressive stuff, definitely has a nose for the football. Can’t wait to see Tariq on the Forty Acres anchoring the middle of our defense.
The last two and a half minutes were downright ugly, but despite another tough game for [tag]DJ Augustin[/tag] and some awful clutch free throw shooting the Longhorns topped the Baylor Bears in Waco Saturday afternoon. The 11th ranked Horns blew nearly all of a 14-point lead in the final three minutes, but did just enough to hold on for a 82-77 conference win. Next up is another ESPN Big Monday game at home against the Aggies at 8pm.

Once again the Horns stepped up big in front of a national audience Monday night, playing good, tough basketball in route to a big upset win of #3 [tag]Kansas[/tag]. The win puts the team in good shape for a Big 12 run and gives the team another quality win come tourney seeding. Check out my live blog of the game and ESPN’s highlights of the game below:
Video removed by ESPN. Why do they only store videos for a couple weeks?
Yesterday the Longhorns overcame a 13-point deficit in their way to a 71-65 win over [tag]Iowa State[/tag] in Ames. Read the Bevo Sports’ recap or check below for ESPN highlights of the game:

Muschamp is ready to get the defense going. Watching the video of the press conference got me fired up.
I’m not sure whether or not [tag]Roger Clemens[/tag] is telling the truth, but I’m also not sure I buy that Brian McNamee knows anything either. Clemens sure seems confident that McNamee has no proof, and he’s pissed about it as well:
Clemens has filed a defamation lawsuit in Harris County. Clemens claims McNamee originally made his allegations to federal authorities after being threatened with criminal prosecution if he didn’t implicate Clemens.
He better be 100% positive McNamee doesn’t have sort of evidence, and that there’s no way anyone else can come forward with proof he took HGH or steroids. If he had just issued a denial and then let the whole thing go the only thing really at stake was his Hall of Fame entry. The strong denial and lawsuit are certainly risky maneuvers, Roger is putting it all out of the table in an attempt to prove his innocence. Even if Clemens can discredit McNamee or disprove these current allegations, unfortunately a can of worms has been opened that there may be no way to close.
Aggies eat their boogers. Seriously. This is no school yard taunt, an Aggie fan picked his nose and ate it on national TV tonight during their Alamo Bowl loss to Penn State. Watch below:
I’d rather be Chris Jessee than that guy right now.
(Thanks to Voltronjacko on Orangebloods for the clip.)
ESPN’s brief postgame interview with Mack Brown’s stepson [tag]Chris Jessee[/tag] has been posted to their beta video site, you can watch it below:

This play/incident has taken away the focus from a great win for the team. Unless something new comes up this will be the last time we talk about Chris Jessee for a while. (And I’m still not sure of the official spelling of his last name, ESPN Video used “Chris Jessie”.) We’ll be posting some postgame and postseason recaps and thoughts over the coming days and weeks.
